reasonably priced sebastopol goslings?

I am almost afraid to jump in on this thread…..LOL
I raise and show Sebastopols and sell goslings for $50 each. I only have room to keep about 12 goslings a year to grow out and improve my stock….this spring I only shipped out 4 because I had a bad hatching season and needed to grow some out for myself. They did pick up laying again in the summer, not sure why so I did get a few more to keep. I promised a lady last fall I would send her some in the spring or else I would have kept those too. At the height of growing out season our feed bill is $150 a week plus we go to shows and they are pretty expensive when you add up the cost of food, hotel, and gas…not to mention the entry fees. Our bird sales seem to cover about 50% of the cost of keeping and showing them. The rest comes out of our pocket and we do it because the whole family enjoys the birds. We also work on improving every variety we raise and in order to do that we have to keep hundreds of chicks a year and grow them out for 3-18 months before culling for defects, type, color…..etc. We do have to sell some birds along the way to make room in the pens and to pay the feed bill.
I sold a really nice pair of adult Sebastopols for $125. I thought it was a very reasonable price for the quality. I sold them to make room for some new and improved breeders.

WOW!!! Possibly the best photos I have seen of this handsome variety. Your loss will be somebody else's lucky gain for sure.
