Reasons to live in the South

Quote:
Save for the weather and regional accents, and some regional food, most of what y'all are describing is just plain rural living, whether you are north or south. There is little different in a rural community here in Wisconsin. (Yes, I said y'all. My wife of 20 years is from Kentucky).

Instead of the Mason/Dixon line I prefer to call it the Perkins/Waffle House line...Perkins...bad, Waffle House...better. And the waitresses call me "Darlin" and that is just all good. Up here they call me "what do ya want?"

I live in the South of ..... Santa Clara County!

I think a lot of the niceness is just part of being rural.

I'm surprised no one's brought up boiled peanuts. They rule! Nature's most underappreciated food.

None of you brought up Biscuits.NC is the biscuit capitol of the USA.

Thats what I spotted the most when we drove into NC (cept the possums aslep on the side of the road

).
