I'm from "Winsconsin" where all my family drinks pop (they warsh their clothes and when referring to more then one person it's "yous all"). I think it's the wierdest thing now. We drink soda here in Arizona.

Well that's just weird cause I always thought warshin your clothes was Southern...ya know warsh them and then "rainch" them and hang them out to dry...my grandma STILL says that and it has always drove me crazy

I have only been out of the South once, and I didn't like it. I came home to stay

Yep, I'm from PA. I hate the snow. I hate the long winters. I especially hate the ice that accompanies the long winters. I hate that some days it's too snowy and icy and cold and I don't feel safe leaving my chickens out in their run. But I do love my family, and they're all here in PA.

My favorite vacation spot in the entire country - and I've traveled all over the eastern part of this country - is Edisto Island, SC. My DH loves Savannah, GA. We've vacationed there at least 4 times that I can think of off the top of my head. As a matter of fact, DH watches Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil on an almost daily basis.

I have a good job with the state and would like to retire from my state job - but who knows? Plus I don't retire until 2034.

And I can't tear myself away from my family...

I hate to be picky...

There is the north.
There is the South.

And then there is Florida. Florida is not really in the South.
Florida is....well, Florida.

It is a well known fact that if we ever decide to cut Florida
away from Georgia, Florida would surely sink into the water.
There would be 49 states again.

So the true South is the only thing holding Florida up.

AND....

If you leave Flordia, going north, you will be in the South. As
you must leave Florida to get to the South. Therefore, logically,
you are not in the true South when you are in Flordia. You are
in Florida. I learned that in school. I had a pretty smart teacher.

Yes, when you say the "South", it is capitalized. A real place. The
north is just a direction, not a destination.

Just a little ways up the road in Hollywood here......

BTW, for all the CSA fans? It's secede, not succeed. And that war happened a loooooong time ago. No need to keep fighting now.

There are a lot of wonderful things about the northern parts of this world, too!

Florida is about as South as you can get, LOL. Did you know there are more cows in Florida than all of Texas? Did you know there are more horses in Florida than in Kentucky? And without horses and cows you are not truly Southern.......

The thing about misinformation is that it's wrong. Just wrong.

secede or succeed? Depends...

The southern states seceded from the Union and succeded in
becoming know as the "South".

And true enough that Florida is about as far south as you can
get, but it's also to far south. You need to turn around, come back.
You're lost...

The one thing that came to my mind was the sweet tea. When you go to the fast food places and order tea, you get really sweet tea.

When you go to the fast food places in the Pac NW, and ask for sweet tea, you get cold tea with a couple of sugar packets. You put the packets in and they fall to the bottom.
