At least the eggs were very well packed, and will candle to see if they are scrambled. They will go in the incubator tomorrow night, and will candle them on Friday to see if they are any good.

The guinea eggs are pipping already, and I just put them in lockdown last night!

I must have the dates wrong, or they are just early.

I hope that putting them in lockdown will not mess up the hatch rate.

The temp in the hatcher is 100, and humidity is 81%. The incubator temps were 99.9 and humidity were 24%. I have been doing dry incubation, no water at all in the first 18 days. It seems to work.

Update on the guinea eggs- 6 have hatched out of 12 eggs, 2 eggs were clear, 3 had died about 3 or 4 days before the due date, one had pipped the air cell, but not the shell. So, I have 3 pearl pied, 1 pearl, 2 Dunotte. At first I thought that the dunottes were pure white, but I could see a very faint tan markings on them, and not knowing what color they will be, I had PM'ed the breeder, who I got the eggs from, and she said dunotte.

I will post pictures later.

Maybe I can give you guinea eggs in the spring, and you can just stick them under a broody, and tell your DH when they hatch out, that they are stripe chickens.

Thanks. What breeds do you have?

Black Copper Marans, some BO's and the rest is backyard mix. My main rooster in my mix house is an Australorp, throws great dual purpose roos with lots of drum stick meat. Good chest meat also
