Since we have now purchased more chickens we needed to build a bigger coop.

We helped tear down an old barn that was built circa 1880. We are trying to use as much of the reclaimed lumber and siding as possible.

Here is a pic...if I can figure out how to get more I will post.

Hopefully I can get this done in the next few weekends.

Looks great dcure! If you notice the coop in my avatar you'll see the siding is wood from a 100 year old tobacco barn. I tried to make it look like the coops I grew up around. The door was a freebie found beside the road. Someone had remodeled an old house and set the door and some other "take-outs" by the road with a "free" sign on them.

love it dirtsaver! Gotta love freebies. I'm into my coop for about $50. I had to buy a few new 2x4's and a treated 4x4. Other than that I either had it laying around or was able to pick it up from someone who didnt want/ need it. Now if you take labor into consideration, tearing down an old barn and removing thousands of square nails, I'd be broke. But I had the time and 4 kids who needed something to do!
