I think this is about bantams in general and not about Dutch. :

Size & Weight​

The size of usual bantams is one-quarter of the standard breed. Their height can range from 8 to 14 inches

Dutch have no standard counterpart.
I can’t find info about the height on Dutch sites but my Dutch hens are probably about 8 inch. Not 14 inch.

Not all info is correct in the article. E.g. A common bantam breed is created in the Netherlands bc the farmers had to pay ‘tax’ to the landlords/owners of the land. The larger eggs where for the landlord. So the peasants started to breed smaller chickens with smaller eggs. These chickens did not have all characteristics of the breed as we know today.
In the 20th a few persons wanted a breed with more appealing characteristics.
(Translated C. van Gink, the well-known writer on poultry breeds and draftsman of many standard images, was visited in the summer of 1911 by the well-known American poultry illustrator A.O. Schilling. On that occasion he commented on the partridge-coloured Dutch bantams: "They are beautifully colored bantams, but they will not soon become popular outside Holland, because they are too similar to ordinary farm bantams due to the lack of conspicuous breed characteristics." Van Gink regarded the American's comment as a challenge. He put his ideal image of the Dutch bantam on paper and in his stories and publications he indicated how that image could be met.

Both of my speckled Sussex roosters are very nice but I keep catching them making little nests in the back of the coop where I can't reach and trying to convince the hens to lay there instead of in the nest boxes. They seem sad when they realize the eggs are gone and immediately try to get the hens to lay more. These are my first chickens but I feel like these two might make good Dads someday? They're still under a year old but so far I'm happy with the breed. They're definitely on the bigger side but not so big that they're uncomfortable to pick up and pet.
