I haven't used Ebay for almost five years now because of a mistake Paypal made (taking $700 out of my bank account when it was supposed to be out of someone elses) but I think it might be the best way to find hatching eggs that don't cost a fortune. Paypal doesn't make you have an account anymore to send money. Does anyone have sellers they have had good luck with or are sellers that have had good results. My daughter hatches eggs and sells the chicks and is also starting to breed Bantam Cochins and Seramas for show. Ebay looks like a good place to get decent eggs but I don't want to be drug in to any kind of craziness. If I can find reliable people then I would know that any hatching problems would be by us or USPS.

The BYC auction area doesn't have as many postings for the breeds I want but definately look like a safer option. I'll just check back frequently. I especially like the ones where people have posted their results. It will make me feel better about ordering.

i think BYC is the way 2 go.

I have used ebay for years. I find it better to buy from ebayers distance closest first. Post office is rough on packages. I have my senders put hatching eggs fragile and please call for pick up with my phone number on it so as soon as they arrive they call me. This way eggs are not left out in the cold or have the bumpy ride to my mail box. I have also bought from BYC's too, same thing. It's much better to use your own eggs if possible.

A lot of BYC members sell on here AND on Ebay.

Things you should do:
1. Read feedback - as in, read a couple of pages. If they have any negatives, or neutrals, read those too. Sometimes the people that leave negatives can be crazy or just may be a serious concern.
2. Ask questions before you bid.
3. Ask to see several pictures of their actual birds. Ebay sellers sometimes will use images "stolen" off the internet to represent their birds when they may or may not look at all like what is pictured.
