I started with some RIR, black austalorps, barred rock, and gold sex links.

You're welcome. You've got some very hardy breeds and some great layers there. Gold Sex Link is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links and they are laying machines, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You should get loads of large brown eggs from those girls. Australorps are excellent layers as well. )
