Red area just above the beak (Worried)

Could he have been a cross between a Silkie and a Pekin? Because the seller I had got him from had Silkies and Pekins in one cage.
Huh. No, I don't think there's any Silkie there, the dark skin would show. I wondered about a Sebright cross but I would expect to see some patterning in the plumage. It definitely looks like a rose comb rather than a pea so I don't think Brahma either. IDK! Unless maybe it's not a first generation crossing... Do they all look like this one other than the comb?

They all look similar the only difference I can see is the one with the comb seems to have darker feathers. All the others have white feathers on their back but the one with the comb has a mix of grey and tan colour feathers.

Awwwww sho cute baby looks just normal ..
when they start getting young they almost got red soft skin around their beak which attaches to their combs and wattles so just natural :goodpost:

My gut feeling is that this seller is selling barnyard mix chicks. And, although I do think there is a first generation crossing (Brahma and Wyandotte) that could yield this look, it's proof that they either have no idea what their parent birds are or they're selling hatched eggs and had nothing to do with the breeding. Or, they know exactly what they're doing and they're liars... That happens too.

The chick has the look of good health and unless you were planning on showing or breeding, that's all that really matters anyway.
