I recently adopted 3 ladies, approx 10 months old. One Plymouth rock (I think) and 2 Americana's. Both of the Americana's have a reddened raised area level with their beak, under their eye. I thought perhaps they had been pecked prior to coming to live with me. They have one of the small coops, purchased on line, and used only for sleep. During the day they free range in a 400 sq foot pen, and on weekends have access to all areas.

We feed them fresh berries, corn, spinach etc., as well as lay mash, and scratch as a treat. They are shiny, have started to eat out of my hand (finally, after 2 months), and lay almost every day. Their waddles are red, though they look a little flat on top. Since I did not raise these girls from chicks, I'm not sure what I am looking for.

I want to make sure they are happy and healthy. I would appreciate any help that would help me assess and treat the areas on their necks; unless, of course, this is normal.
