red blood in poop

@KikisGirls not to hijack this but can you do that dosing method safely with other "in the water" medical treatments ?
Yes, you can give medicated feed, medicated water, and some orally. Corid is very safe and almost impossible to OD the with it.

You have been treating with Corid for a while already correct?
It is probably safe to safe you can lower the dose of Corid now or maybe even stop using it.
I need to read back real quick to see how long it has been.

I have been doing the "severe" dose since Tuesday - so six days now.

Tractor Supply did not have the Safe-Guard There are two other local feed stores which are closed on Sunday so I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow.

My action plan:

- switch back to medicated food
- switch to lower Corid Dose (1/8 teaspoon per gallon) in water for the next week, fresh water daily
- give Safe-Guard orally and undiluted at 0.25 mL x weight in pounds once a day for five days

Thank you everyone so much!!!

Don't forget for five days if treat cappilary worms. One day treats only large roundworms and cecal worms.

Is that five consecutive days or day 1 and day 5?

The Safe-Guard is given orally and undiluted, ie not mixed with water - is that correct?

Thank you! Thank you!

Update:

Thursday, Friday and this morning, no blood but still runny poop. This morning I saw what I believe is a worm, all from the same hen. Picture attached. Boths hens seem to be acting normal. I'm still treating with the severe Corid dose. Please advise...[/QUOT
That is a large roundworm, so okay to give 0.23 ml per pound "undiluted" orally just once and repeat in 10-14 days as @KikisGirls suggested.

Did you check TSC for the safeguard paste? My store carries the liquid in one section and the paste in another, with the horse stuff. The active ingredient is fenbendazole, and it’s labeled as safeguard or panacur. The last few times I’ve been in there, they were out of the liquid & I finally asked someone for help. I actually found the paste was a little easier to use.

Paste can be used too, and the dose is the same, it's still 0.23 ml per pound. Ignore posts that say "pea size" amount because one pea sized amount = ~0.3 ml of the liquid.

Update on my ladies:

Both are acting normal and poop appears to be normal. They are now off the Corid treatment and have one more DeWormer treatment later this week. We also have them switched back to their medicated food.

Fingers crossed it looks like we've gotten through all this!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for helping out my girls and a new chicken owner!!!
