So I had to process my extra males yesterday when they started wounding each other. I saved my best male and all the females.
All my cots are pharaoh coloured so I selected purely on feather colours.
One of the 6 birds I processed had female parts inside but they all had red breasts (sorry I don’t have a pic).
What is going on? I suppose I need to learn to vent sex now
I should have clued in with the feathers missing on the back of the neck but I just assumed it was part of the male aggression.

Strange things happen.. People often don't breed birds that are not clearly showing their sex, in order to prevent such birds from popping up too often. So it's not all bad that you culled her.

True! I hope the “male” I saved really is a roo! I picked him because he was the biggest, had a bright red breast and was the most docile.
But I’ve got more eggs on order so I guess it’ll be fine if not lol
