My four week old chick has this flap in her eye. I’ve been flushing it with saline but she does rub it. No other symptoms present.. it does seem to be attached, any ideas?

awww poor girl she doesn’t act like she’s in pain does she? I haven’t had this happen so I don’t know what to do real. quick question is she blinking? And what happens to the blob thing when she does?

Is the other eye the same or not inflamed? It could be that she was pecked in the pink membrane (conjunctiva) by another chicken. You could put a small dab of Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin in the eye twice a day for a few days. Other possibilities would be cherry eye or conjunctivitis.

Other eye is fine, and her eating is normal. I will have to look into cherry eye and conjunctivitis. I haven’t tried anything topical but it’s worth a shot!
