Red Jelly Blobs in Poop?

Thanks.

I'll have to figure out which chicken it is somehow. The only problem is that I only find it every 3-4 days or so. That may take awhile if I just separate one at a time for a few days until I find the poop. What is the best way to do that?

I would just treat them both. Corid is very safe, since they are being kept together they have both been exposed. I would not wait, some strains of coccidia are more virulent than others and can kill quickly. The longer you wait, the more damage to the intestinal tract will be done. I would start treatment right away.

Both? I have 8 chickens in quesiton and only 1 is pooping blobs. Won't I need to know who is pooping the blobs to gather its poop for a fecal and gram stain?

I guess I can give Corid again but I've already done that three times already with no result.

Jeez, I'm sorry! I was reading many posts this morning and confused yours with another I was reading (Similar avatars). My mistake! I still think you should have the gram stain done.

Hehe. No problem. You have any suggestions on how to quickly ID which bird it is?

If it happens on the roosts at night you can sometimes tell from where it is. Some birds roost in the same spot all the time. If not, then you may need to crate them, until you see which one does it. You could also just take a mixed sample from the flock, see what shows up. Then isolate after that to narrow it down if necessary. If it came back for parasites you'd likely treat the whole flock anyway for that.

I clean poop every day and I always look at it. I don't think I've ever had shed intestine on occasion that clears itself up. When I see it, there will be some today, some tomorrow, some the next day, more the next day, and then a roundworm or two in a poop. I've never had gobs of roundworms fall out, just one or two small to medium sized per poop. I'll de-worm and the shed intestines are gone for 1.5-2 months.
