Red junglefowl cockerel of unknown age lethargic, somethimes unable to walk, rests often

Ok, I checked up on him. He finished the papaya, which was pretty big. He still seems pretty weak and now his poop is watery, most likely due to how liquid the papaya was. I couldn’t feed him the egg, so now I’m going to clean out his cage then give him some more feed. Maybe he’ll eat it dry?
Hopefully.

Hopefully.
He doesn’t care for that either. Caught two more bugs, put one in the feed and he pecked it up and hopefully tasted the feed, and one in the water so he would wet his beak and realize there’s water in there. I don’t think he’s too hungry, that papaya was bigger than his stomach and crop combined, and he ate it over about 24 hours.

Alright, I *think* he ate some of the feed. I put a lychee in there for him with a little skin still on so he could recognize it for sure, but he didn’t touch it. Here’s the set up:

Ok. He’s definitely eaten some feed and drank some water, he’s also eaten a little of the lychee. Nonetheless he’s still not very active. He seems plenty alert though! Does anyone have any suggestions to help him trust me? I’d like to let him free range but the neighborhood is full of cats and I fear if he runs off he’ll get eaten.

Poop looks fairly normal? He is a bit droopy looking. Can you get a stool sample tested for Coccidiosis?

Time and patience will help tame him - food is good way to them to become familiar with you. I have never tried them, but read some have very good results with live mealworms. He may always be a bit flighty, but the longer you have him, he will call your place home (unless he finds some unattached ladies;))
