I haven't visited this thread in awhile sadly, this heat here in SW Ok is brutal on these birds ( White Cornish ), they are doing well better than some of my other breeds. we have had Temps in the 101-105's every day for well over 3 wks now with no rain, and you thought h3ll was hot LOL shoooot.
I have aquired some fine Buckeye stock from a good breeder A few hen's and 2 Big Roo's, These will be my next ingrediant in this meat bird breeding project, so the saga continues.

Its been raining here frequently , too much in fact , and its adding to the humidity making our heat indexes average the same as yours . Those Buckeyes sound like they should work well .
Hey steve take a new pic of your big boy . . .
I'll try to get pics tomorrow . He's really not all that big , just bigger than I want him at this stage , and felt heavy after handling the other breeds . I'm guessing 10 to 12 lbs at approaching 15 weeks . I really should set up my hanging scale and get some weights so I'm not just guessing . They're eating their daily ration now in about 15 minutes and wanting more , but I'm trying to keep them as small and yet healthy as I can . They can browze on grass and usually have scraps also , but they really prefer the crumbles . On the other hand , the Ameraucanas are on full feed crumbles and always waiting on greens and scraps . I guess its always what they don't have that they want LOL . By the way , they get about one and a half cups of crushed limestone from a local quarry per day and are always wanting more calcium . They ate a gallon of it in three days so now I limit that also .
