; his charcoal sketches and water colors are often mistaken for photographs. He was given a show in a Miami art gallery, and did do a little commissioned work, but just isn't interested in doing it professionally.

I sure hope I can make it to Crossroads, meet you, and see some of your birds in person.

I bought a copy of the APA's Standards of Perfection 2010 recently, and was surprized that jubillee is not a recognized color [they would have to be shown AOV] and wondered why. I figured maybe there are just so few breeders with large fowl Cornish that there have never been enough jubilee birds at a show for a qualifying meet. Is my guess correct? I did see that bantam Cornish had a ton of recognized colors, but jubilee wasn't listed for them either. ????????

Rather than looking through 118 pages, I am going to just ask, What is the difference between the WLR and Jubilee?
They look the same to me.
Thanks. As I have some WLRs out here, it would be nice to know.

Also, I got these pullets with this batch from MM (I know, they are just hatchery stock and need a lot of work) who have double pencilling like the darks do but they are white and red. Would that be from them crossing in some DC's to get new blood in their stock? I can post a picture if needed but I will have to go out and take one if I can get them to hold still

Actually, for hatchery stock, they are pretty calm birds, it is the rest of them in the pen that spaz all the time.

Thanks for any light someone can shine on this.

I'm not sure..................... I know he has a password protected site I can use to view his work, but think he told me he was going to build a website someday. I'm not sure if he ever got around to it; and think since he moved to Alaska, the art has been put on the back burner. I do know he uses Facebook and think I remember his art there, and does not understand why I won't use the site [too many emails of "interested in meeting a man" or "looking for relationship"; if they looked like their pictures and were capable of a relationship, they wouldn't have to be sending emails to an old man].

All I had noticed was that the jubilee were more white; Big Medicine recently explained that jubilee were double laced as opposed to just laced.................... kinda like the difference in color between a black laced red Wyandotte hen and a dark Cornish hen, only in white and red instead of black and red.

P.S. I now know my hatchery sourced WLR Cornish had some jubilllees also. As I understand it, many carry both genes and jubillees can crop out. I used a quality DC over my hatchery sourced WLRC to improove their type................. it remains to be seen how well they were improoved and final feathers pattern, but they are all red and white

Steve, you are right. The jubillee isn't a recognized color but is the result of crossing diff colors. some have a lot of white and a little red on their back while others with more red.

Drooling here!!!!! He is a beautiful bird! Colorwise at least. Where is Al? He has to have something to say here!

Maybe I have some jubilee pullets then! That would be cool!
