Red Laced Cornish X and project talk (pics p. 8)

No, the ROO was the Marans, and the Cornish hens, so I don't think they are sex-linked. I don't mind, I still think they are gorgeous! Even as day olds, the bodies seem a bit chunkier/wider to me than the others, or I'm going gaga already. Hard to see here though, from the top.
The blue is an Ameraucana, the yellow an Icelandic, and the patchy one is an Icelandic/Speckled sussex)

They look tobe sexlinked. If you have cuckoo in the marans which most do then I think they are sexlinked if under a DC roo.

I wasn't sure I just noticed only 2 of the dark ones had a white spot on the head. May just be the angle. They are all nice lookin babies.

A link to this website has been posted in the Orp thread and I moved from the Orps to the "indian games."

Don't post this guy's pictures anywhere because he will raise a real stink from what I've heard. But lest we think the extra wides are a new phenomenon, these pics are from the 1930's. I think you'll go:

Like I did.

Agreed, I've posted before about the old Standard Of Perfection illustrations showing birds very similar, maybe having a slightly more upright stance. This is not a new trend.

I found a brown egg [all of the pullets in his pen lay blue or green except the Cornish] in the White Cornish's pen yesterday, and saw one one of the DC pullets that are in with him lay one today.

I usually do not set pullet eggs until they've been laying 2 or 3 weeks, eggs are getting bigger, and showing consistent fertility....................................... but going to try hatching these.

I got curious today and cracked four eggs from narrow bodied EEs or Ameraucanas under my Cornish cockerels, and they were all haloed. Will be setting more eggs this week, though already have 84 set St Patty's Day [however some of those were over three weeks old]. If anyone wants me to, I'll auction some eggs from Cornish crossed to Lav Orps, Black Orps [supposedly split to Lav], EEs, and Ameraucanas as soon as my incubator is full. There will be a chance of getting some pure Dark Cornish eggs included, though no guarantee, as they look pretty much identical to the Orpington pullet's eggs.
