Red mite issue again....

Ok so I ordered Elector PSP as advised by people on this forum to tackle the red mite problem.

I live in Ireland, so it could take up to a month to get here from USA

What do I do in the mean time? I’ve been washing the coop, changing bedding regularly, using diatomaceous earth, spraying permethrin spray (although seems to do nothing)

One of my chickens has lost condition, although still acting normally and eating...I’m panicking in case the wait for the elector stuff is too long for my girls :(
Can you post a picture, or preferably a few, of the inside of your coop?
Are you sure it's red mite the chickens have?
If it is red mite then it's a coop rather than a chicken problem. Red mite (unless they are red feather mite) don't live on the chicken.
If you are seeing mites on your chickens during daylight hours it's probable that you are looking at Northern Fowl mite which do live on the chicken.

Spray the chickens with the permethrin too, not just the coop.

Hi, I'm in Kilkenny and have an infestation of mites and see how difficult it seems to be to get PSP. How did you get on after spraying the house/hens with it? Was it once only and did it get rid of them? Thanks so much
