Red Sex Link Hens and Australorp Rooster

Would the hens breed from these two(Red Sex Link Hens and Australorp Rooster) be as decent of layers as their respective parents. Someone wants to give me red sexlink hens but I have only ever had Aussie.

They might lay a bit better than the Australorp but not as well as the red sexlink.
