Hello everyone. First-time chicken raisers here. Tonight we noticed that one of hens had this red ear lobe. Not sure when it started. She is 8 or 9 week old, a "pullet" from TSC, probably a Tetra Tint or Leghorn. We have six, this is the only one showing this. At first we thought she was cut or pecked and moved her inside the house so the others wouldn't peck. But I tried peroxide on a cotton swab, and no blood came off. I've posted a picture from the other side so you can compare.
is this all normal variation? An infection? a scratch?
Thank you,
Matthew
