Red tailed hawks

What would you do with it after? Throw it far in the woods? Could you take it to the park and very carefully let it go?

Either way, it'll most likely return to its territory. But your chickens will still be alive.

Red tailed hawks ARE a threat to chickens. I have had multiple close calls with them (thankfully have never lost anyone to one), and I am close to South Minneapolis too. Cover your run with hardware cloth, or put lots of threads of fishing line across the top close together. Do NOT shoot it. Hawks are protected by law (unfortunately) and harming one will land you in jail with a huge fine. They claim it is because they are endangered, but I think it is just their way of getting rich off of chicken owners after loosing their girls and getting revenge on the hawk that did it.
