Red Viens in yokes

Could be? I have just never seen this in eggs before. The eggs I have been collecting from these chickens have been going into the incubator, but the incubators are full. So, I decided to eat a few to see what they would taste like. Well once I saw the bloody viens in the yokes, down the drain they went... Wasn't sure if they would be safe to eat or not. Better safe than sorry!
 
I was told once that during the winter time a hen can hold an egg in, up to 3 days before she lays it and the warmth of her body can cause the egg to incubate
