Red,White and Blue block swap

well we have been quiet so I guess that means we are busy sewing so I will check back in on the 15th, we had a controlled burn around my house and they managed to burn through the cable, so either it was supposed to be buried and it wasn't or it was supposed to be in the air and it was on the ground either way my connection to the out side world has been cut off and I hate Micky D's wifi

I'll be putting my package in the mail on Saturday. I just cant get away from work to do it any sooner. I loved working with this block. Maybe we can do another one around a 3" block with a certain color palette.
Our weather has been nicer. A couple of 70 degree days and we're all getting excited for spring.

Darling man lost half his car in a pothole yesterday. Had to be towed to a tire place. Bent one rim and busted twos tires. That was one mean pothole!
Get to see my college son over spring break soon. He can spare just 24 hours for the woman who gave him birth. Oh well. Love him anyway.

Package has been sent today, so hopefully you will receive it by Monday or Tuesday. All of mine ended up being a different lay-out but with mostly the same fabrics.

I had to get 2 additional pieces of fabric last night, some of my R/W/B scraps weren't working (ie I started to suspect a couple were not 100% cotton so I set those aside & lacked enough to finish). So the 2 new fabrics are in the washing machine atm & expect being able to mail out Monday or tue latest. (I'm pretty close to Kat so mail should take only 2 days baring freak storms etc !!)

Meanwhile, the DH is currently enroute to pick up our new dairy goat who is due for her 1st freshen April 3 !!

And, this will allow the goats to grow up w/ our 2 (yes TWO) new puppies,
the husband's French Mastiff turned 13 wks old yesterday, this am his butt is up to the DH's kneecap, my DH is 6 ft 7 inches tall....
and we are working on taming my new Neopolian Mastiff puppy, she is 7wks and full of potential shall we say...actually I'm rather ticked at the person we got her from--I was told the mom weaned at 5wks which is fairly normal for super large breeds, & that she was getting 2 cups kibble /day, BUT what I wasn't told was that the mom was taken away & the pups at 5wks dumped on a carport w/ another litter of puppies to fight it out for the food :( The 2nd overnight I spent on the kitchen floor w/ her she at 6 yes SIX cups of food in 12 hrs after free feeding all day. Her spine is no longer bumpy along her back and we are working on the idea of sharing w/o food aggression. She actually shared chewing on a bone w/ the other pup for awhile yesterday and doesn't grow when he eats from her dish after 48 hrs of food available in multiple places 24/7 so I think it will turn out fine but this was surely NOT the home raised farm puppy I was lead to believe we were paying for :( rather ticked and the person we got her from claims to be a vet tech.

So while I'm wrapping up the blocks please be amused by the following pictures...

Verndari Says " I'm gonna be big, really BIG"

Gerta Says "So what is this I hear about all you can eat food??!!"

Have a great weekend ya'll !

Pups are darling. Will you be moving out? heeheehee
Leaving for the Post Office now.

The only one open in my area in Saturday morning is in Tulsa near great coffee, a favorite local yarn shop and my favorite clothing store. Oh my.

Letting everyone in the big pen out to free range today. This means keeping others cooped up. The one that are out mosey up to the coop birds and I'm not sure what the total conversation is like but I'm quite sure it includes some raspberrys and "she likes us best" and "nana nana boo boo"

Spring has sprung around here finally but I hear we're getting a wintry mix in precipitation tomorrow. But, those birds are finally out of my sewing room and aren't coming back. There's plenty of them so they can keep warm together.

Wonderful weather and weekend to you all and if you're are celebrating this weekend avoid the green beer. I'm just sayin'

LOL! I was going to say we have 30 acres no problem, but then I realized both my rain boots & my old winter boots are currently set outside due to having stepped in the wrong place while taking the wee beasties to do (more) business...we'll be taking them farther from the house ASAP, but right now those coyotes they will protect against when they are grown are an issue for even big puppies : /

So meanwhile, I've got good, bad & bad good news
Good == blocks done!
Bad = we were totally fogged in all day so much I couldn't imagine trying to drive off the mtn to po,
Good = so blocks will send tomorrow should be to Kat's on Thurs (and we are forecast to actually see the sun too)

Bad= The 10 UofA Blues were bad, on candle 4 were in fact cracked of which 2 were oozing, 3 had started but were early obvious blood rings , yucky & sad
Good = The person I got them from has 4 on hand atm and will collect and re=ship, I'm going to have her have them hold&call at the local PO, I've got my suspicions about my local delivery person and all the very very bad shipped eggs I've gotten, so I'll do the 30 mile trip this time to fetch them and we shall see if it matters...

Oh, and I have from the CA eggs (sent to replace the NYDH when I got 1 of 45!! ) 3/12 this time, along w/ 6/7 & 2/3 of my own set in same bator prior & day after as controls .
Three fancy fluffies are 1 EE , 1 BCM , 1 IM the later two being from super dark eggs but both looking very roo to me , unless Maran girls sometimes hatch w/ tiny points already on their combs?? can anyone help me on that? are they for certain roos....yes I know must post pictures...
