Redcaps

You'd have to find some large Hamburgs, but that would certainly work.

Just remember to keep your Male line pure breeding to the best pullets each year. After using them discard them.

Do not be tempted to keep ANY males and use them no matter how good to type they look for at least 5 or 6 generations: 8 is preferred.

yes u can breed the white ear lobes out in 3 to 5 generations... i still wonder if you would not be better off to do what the ALBC did with the buckeye... or maybe both at the same time...
Golden spangled hamburgs are really close to color for females as well. the only thing is the hamburgs have white earlobes but would it be possible to breed that out with a redcap rooster?

Redcaps are as rare if not rarer in the UK than in the States.

I have a friend that is working on getting an import hatchery up and going (been working on it more than a year now). If success then importations will cost much less than they do presently for potentially several more birds at a time via hatching eggs.
