Yes I was thinking of going with the clan breeding plan or the rolling matings plan.

Yes you are right I forgot about the British Red Dorking color pattern.

I have a few eggs in the Incubator to make sure everything is ok with my Redcap flock. Will post pictures of the chicks when they hatch

Great! I would think that was a very respectable hatch rate, they are young yet. I'll check back for baby pictures.
I was on the Poultry Keeper and found some of your photos. Your cockerel really is pretty. You aren't tired of hearing that are you? Did you keep any of the others? I'm going to always try to have a back up after this past summer.

Be aware that birds hatched out this time of year can be difficult to raise and are often, though not always, smaller than birds hatched in the winter and spring. This is the main reason that folks years ago didn't hatch this time of year: it's just too difficult on the rearing side of the equation.
