Redinator's First Hatch-Along w Bonus Broody: And Everything Thereafter

Sweety and her chicks put themselves up in the larger run last night.

Aside from that everything else is going well. It maybe a 'no news is good news' situation.

Sweety's 3 chicks finally made it all in the run without assistance, but Cookie decided he wanted to sleep dead center on the top of the run, out of reach.
I almost didn't see him up there and we have an owl that hunts rats in our yard.

I did manage to get him down with a ladder. I used the end of a rake for him to grab on to so I could pull him within reach.

Good job little chickies! They really catch on so quickly. He sure does look cute up there!!! Glad you seen him though and got them all put up safely.

If he were a bit bigger I'd let him stay up there and get rained on so he'd learn WHY they go in the run, but he's still snack size for an owl.
