The chickens finally came out of hiding. I'm going to do a head count.

I hope you've got everyone that you haven't already determined to be missing.

Yay!! Oh, this makes me so happy!! Sweety looks so at peace again.

Ok, so I know none of the eggs I have are from Sweety, she's still raising her chicks.

The eggs would be from Pot, my black barnyard mix; Buffy, the Buff Orpington, and the RIRs I just traded.

The males would be Taz and Kettle again.

I only got three chicks from Pot on the last hatch and the other pullets weren't laying at that time.

These will be the last of Taz's chicks since he was culled for bad behavior. So far his chicks from the last hatch are angels, I think Sweety's calmer temperament canceled out some of his bad temperament.

Of the nine chicks I got in the batch only three, possibly four are girls. The three chicks Sweety is raising are still undetermined.

You didn't love the RIRs temperaments, right? Those mixed with Taz's genes might be less than ideal. But of course, they might be angels too. I've never done this, so what do I know? Lol.

I told him the RIRs eggs were fertile so he should try hatching them. He keeps sending me pictures of ALL the eggs they're laying. I don't think he realizes the longer they sit around the more likely they'll find their way to an incubator, lol.
