Im telling you with the price of lumbar and materials...whew!!!! When Hurricane Ike hit us...we were in a disaster zone...and bored!...so I had this bright idea, lets pick up all the fence no one wants that is down...as much as we can haul...DH was ok, after awhile it was dont you think we have enough?
I said alittle more..our back yard is full of it...I mean it runs in piles along the side of our back fence...we live on 4 acres....think its like maybe 2 long mobile homes put side by side...that is how much fence we have. And we made our coop out of that. Of course at the time we hadnt even thought of chickens!!!
But it sure came in handy....
we bought chicken wire, at the resale shop! and I say about only 50.00 in things we needed here and there and got a big coop...we are still building more little coops added on to the back of that one.
the chain linked fence gate...we bought like 5 different sizes from a lady that posted on craigslist for all the gates 45.00. I have more gates stacked up....if you look to the left, you can see part of the fence pile that we are making the coops from.
