Reflux (GERD)-who has it and what to you do about it?

I use a bed wedge to help. I had to get the brand Bedge because the ones you see in the stores are much too short & steep. I still need to take prescription meds but symptoms are much less.

I had gerd and reflux for years and took lots of conventional western meds but none worked. I also tried eating earlier and earlier in the afternoon so nothing in my stomach at bedtime. Still not much help. I gave up coffee. Nothing. I couldn't sleep except on my sides -- all night, and I still woke up with nasty liquids in my mouth sometimes.

Finally, I went on the GAPS diet. Within 2 weeks, symptoms of gerd, reflux and other dysfunctional digestive problems disappeared. Completely gone. Many other problems are gone, too. I've remained on the diet to help actually heal my gut. If you read more about it, you'll see the science behind it. It's a whole syndrome of illnesses (and more than digestive) that stem from a gut that is out of balance.

GAPS is short for Gut and Psychology Syndrome, btw. It's a diet of just regular foods, but you leave out refined carbs and sugars, and you emphasize broths, fats, and probiotic foods. I've never felt more nourished, and I've never had such a sense of well-being in my life. Highly recommend it! Good luck!
