Rehoming older chickens

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions for rehoming 2 2-year old chickens (a rhode island red and a gold rush)? We love them and want them to go to a good home where they can live out their days peacefully, but we are going to be away this summer and don't have anyone to look after them. Full disclosure, the Red is not laying well and may have developed a taste for her own eggs...we tried to fix this with a new diet, but it hasn't seemed to have helped. Maybe a change of scenery would do them both good!

You could try your local craigslist.

That is what I did. Found a nice farm that took them just to eat bugs.
Make sure you give full disclosure.
