Reintroducing a call duck after injury

So I have an almost 3 year old female call duck. She got out of her pen three weeks ago and was attacked by my Pekins who are kept in a seperate yard. Her eyes were really beat up and we feared vision lose due to a hole in her third eyelid.

Lucky she is now almost fully healed and only has one more week on an eye drop for one of her eyes. Because of this I thought it was time to start reintroducing her to her flock again. I’ve kept her completely separated as it is winter where I live and I didn’t want her to be cold as well as injured, so they haven’t seen her in three weeks.

I know that it’s going to take a while for them to reestablish the hierarchy again but I was wondering if there’s a particular way I should go about it?

I have 2 other females and 1 drake, the drake has never really taken a liking to her but it was also never really hostile more disinterest. The problem is one of my other females can be quite aggressive at times so I’m worried she’ll make the injuries worse for the duck.

Should I start having her sleep in their pen in her own seperate crate so they can get used to each other again? The other problem is that even though she’s got her wings clipped she can still fly which is how she got into the other pen, I don’t know if I should try and clip them more because I can’t really afford to extend the fence and I’ve seen her fly before she can get really high.

Any advise is welcome, thanks.

poor little baby you’re right she will probably fly over the fence again and not remember getting beat up.
Yes, I would do what you said with the crate for re-introduction to her flock
You can keep her feathers clipped properly be careful never to clip too much though
Even so, I had a chicken that flew over into my garden , over the fence, and then kept trying to fly over it again until I put a bunch of tall sticks attached to the top of my fencing

Any way you can set up a pen beside or inside the flocks enclosure where they can see but not touch each other for a week or so would be best.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately reintroducing isn’t going well. They just don’t seem to be taking to her, especially the drake every time he sees her he chases her off. The other girls also either chase or quack her off.

There’s been no pulled out feathers or blood thankfully but she’s started to appear sad and I’ve been finding her out in the open just sitting down. I’m worried she’s going to start starving herself if this keeps up.

She’s still kept seperate at night with her own food and water. Should I try introducing more ducks to offset the pecking order or keep her isolated for a couple days in their sight? I’ve never had an introduction go wrong before so I don’t know why they’ve taken a disliking to her.

Is there one hen maybe that gets along with her?
If you have a way to do so, try penning your flock off confining them and giving her and perhaps one or two friends the run of the place the flock usually has free run of. Sometimes that will re-establish things a bit and give her some confidence.
