The farm we own was the first automated chicken farm this side of the Mississippi. In fact much of the original system is still intact in the Spring house.

I am trying to decide if we should use the old chicken house again. (2 foot thick stone walls) I’d need to remake the coop area and run.

From everything I’ve read the Polish chickens need their hair to stay dry. Haha They will be free range when we are home. (Darn hawks)

Should I reinvent the wheel and just do a coop w a decent covered run? I am questioning it since they will be free range now.

A benefit to the Spring house is electric as well as increased weather protection. Downside I have to clear out 20 years of stores crap. Also, requires the same build to wall off some of to 950 sq ft

TIA. I’m going to miss having them right next to my bed screaming at me to cover them and turn off the lights. SPOILED

I need to move a ton of stuff when we moved my grandfather in with us all his business stuff got put in there. I got a trailer load of pallet boards, mostly oak, and complete access to as many as I want. Construction either way will only cost me time.

Here you go. Excuse the mess. I realized a lot of the chicken wire is still up in there, but I still need to carry back down the old tin brooding boxes w perches and automatic feeders. I totally forgot that there are drains in the floor to hose out the poop. Last pic is just our nap time. Shhhhhhh my roo (I hope it’s a roo) wants to snuggle
