Religion and chickens

I never knew how bad it was till I read this thread then went back to the forum and SAW alll the prayer posts. There are other groups for that and that is where they belong NOT on a chicken group.

Yes, it has been a bit since I have been reading BYC so it was a bit of a shock. But soliciting prayers for oneself or others is in my mind not right on THIS Forum. It is a form of spam to some when it takes so many threads. I am not anti religious but I am anti pushing it in someones face that might or might not be your religion.

P.S. This is all I will say on this and I shall not return PM about this either. This is my opion take it or leave it. It is not an attack on onyone person or group.

). It's hard to 'skip' those if they hijack the thread you are waiting in for helpful replies on the topic matter!

Add as many 'pray for ____' threads as you like, just don't inject religious posts into non-religious ones! Also, keep what you will in the signature. All that random stuff gives me a chuckle fairly often!

I have no proublem with it,no one is preaching at me so i dont care.

Religion has been ingrained into most lives like saying bless you when someone sneezes or crossing your fingers,little things like this are religion based.Its such a part of religious peoples lives.

Most Americans find it hard to belive not everyone is religious or christian.

If i dont like a post i skip it or ignore when a post goes religious.I am not religious at all in fact i do not belive in any god or after life ect ect ect.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you... but I do not read posts by their forum area... I use the recent posts link so I end up seeing everything that has been posted... chicken and other. If they create sections for religion and politics.... I'm afraid that this will increase the amount of these posts and flood the 'recent posts' with a whole lotta non-chicken threads.

I don't mind the occasional post or prayer request... even if I don't think they belong here, they certainly have not been banned... sometimes I read them, sometimes I don't.

Hi LCRT, I have to ask, maybe I shouldn't, but I am curious, is this really your beliefs? or is it more shock value for others?

No disrespect is meant in my question. My reason for asking is my step brother professes to be a Satanist but only because his dad (my step dad) professes to be Christain (not the he is doing a good job of living what he professes). My Step brother first professed Satanism as shock value to his dad.

I again don't mean to be rude or insult, and hope you don't take it that way. I am just really into theologies and I like to know what people believe and why.

Won't be offended if you chooose not to answer.

And as to the injected religion posts... well, you can not change the nature of people... and some people view the world through religion. Short of banning people who make these posts... I don;t see how it would stop. I mean, lots of good people on here make posts that they probably shouldn't from time to time.

And, for those who are a bit over zealous.... making a ruckus about it only makes them twice as determined.

I'm all for ignoring.

I agree, and I think the original poster had that in mind too. Last I researched this topic the only religion (that I know of) that actively uses chickens in it's practices is voodoo shamanism, and I bet there isn't many shamans on this forum.

But all this kidding aside I think we all are getting our feathers ruffled when a person injects a religion based comment into what is clearly non-religious discussion.

If you find solace in asking for prayers for any of the above mentioned issues (and more!) on this forum and start a new thread that specifies religious content. More power to you! It's good that there is a supportive community.

If I say my chickens nearly froze last week because power was out and ask what to do in that situation; This does not a prayer request constitute! But valid help tips are welcome.

I completely agree with this. The separate threads themselves are avoidable, but then you stumbled across injected garbage in so many other threads. I think this has a lot to do with why BYC is relatively slower now. People just don't want to see that. It's not church, it's a chicken forum.

I was a practicing Catholic for many years, & even an alter boy when I was young. When my past lives were revealed to me, & the fact that my soul had already been turned over to the Dark Lord in exchange for immortality, I became a card carrying practioner of the Satanic Arts.

Once I discovered who I really was my world changed dramatically. I was able to retire at 44 by selling both my business & my house. I have no need to work anymore & can truly enjoy life without struggling money wise.

All these things fell into place after I found my true following. This is why I believe Satan is not EVIL, but made to look that way by Christians.

Look at the number of posts here by Christian's asking for prayer, & blaming the Devil for their problems. I honestly believe they have brought these problems on themselves, & they continue to seek solace & remediation from a power that cannot or will not help.

The only thing TRULY EVIL in this world are silkies.
