It's blantly obvious that I'm no poultry expert but everthing I read says that it is the hen that establishes the sex in the chicks. Have you thought about having a heart to heart girlie talk with Velvet and Skye? Just a thought, ya know. Poor old Suede is doing his best, I'm sure.
Well, I've hatched splashes from my eggs, from Julie's, from Jim Cox's and from Christina's. ALL splashes I hatched, one from each group, were male. The eggs I send to other people produce splash pullets many times! Ask Purple Chicken and Cara and a few I cant recall, LOL. So I know my girls are producing splash girls, just not for ME.
I just cant do it anymore for awhile, Adam. I'm bushed...and very tired of buying chick starter this year. My flock is complete for the time being. Suede will have to make do with just one more lady in a few months. And flaws or not, Delilah may have to stay.
Tori, that was awesome, what your breeder friend said about the pullet you hatched from Suede and Velvet. It really made my day!

I've never gotten a Splash cockeral, all that I have ever hatched out were pullets....now, from someone elses lines I have one of each...but mine have all been pullets...
