I got some in Aug and then in January and they spent the entire winter out in the coop with a heat lamp (two coops) they did just fine and actually like the snow. They are under a lot of trees through and it was just a fine dusting. It was fun to watch them try to "catch" snowflakes. The only downside was my electrical bill for running heat lamps 24/7
