I shouldn't have laughed quite as much, but it's true.... I browse the classifieds a lot, and "vintage" clothes are in my wardrobe.Young people's "vintage" and old/er people's "vintage" are not the same thing.
I remember asking one of the girls (young women-that's another sign of being old, everyone young seems like a kid) at work once what her plans were for the weekend, and I asked wheter she was off to a disco, and she went "what's a disco? Do you mean a nightclub?" At the time, she wasn't even 10 years younger than I am. "What's a disco?" Indeed.
OMG, those trousers. David was my "vintage", I watched "The Partridge Family". Poor man, he's not well. I wanted Shirley Jones to be my mother.

Exactly ... or that old folks are crusty old curmudgeons (okay, that one is true for me) ... or that their age grants them some special wisdom (trust me, that one AIN'T true for me!)

I remember my parents had some sort of holders on the walls for kerosene lamps in a couple rooms, nothing as fancy as that. Candle holders in other rooms. Gravity feed spring water and a woodstove. Power outages didn't affect us much
