Removed a Hen from the Coop

Dividing the roosts with cloth or wood is ingenious! I'm not having a problem now, but will certainly keep this idea in mind in case something comes up.

Thanks for the ideas, mine is not a walk in either (another beginner mistake) but the side where the roost is opens all the way up for cleaning. I'll see what I can cobble up today to make a divider. At this point it's only the one hen being a trouble maker. She will get a red zip tie ankle bracelet this morning before going back into the run for quick identification and behavior monitoring.

The only issue I see is if you divide off a small section Red will go to the big section and continue her evil ways... Hopefully her night in the pokey helps her see the error of her ways!

@aart calls it the roost time rumble, as long as everyone ends up on the roost I would be inclined to stay out of it.

The dividers work because it eliminates the necessity of a chicken that hates the sight of another to look at her enemy, thus removing the drive to do something about it.

Sometimes I wish I could just hang up a curtain between myself and life's irritations and make them go away that easily.

Red likes the front corner so I think she will just go in I hope. I might make it a bit big the first night or three... hmm needs to be easy to slide.

The hens seem to appreciate the dividers. I thought they might get upset, but no. When I first put one up, they understood right away, they get it. Now I have 2 dividers on that main roost so 3 can use it. I love the pic from @azygous of the 5 in their divided compartments.....

Got a curtain up, we will see what happens at 4:45PM... I do like the idea of a curtain better than a wood wall I hope Red likes it.
