Removing heat from ducklings

so tonight I noticed that my ducklings aren’t really sitting on or under the heat plate like they had been. They are starting to sleep outside of it but still near it. Would it be weird if they were already starting to ease themselves off the heat?

Can you turn it down or raise it up so the heat isn't so intense? How old are they?

What age are they? Are they in the house or outside? Ducklings don't need as much heat as a Chicken chick does.

They are a week and a half. I had raised the plate but the little buggers decided that being on top was better a few days ago. They are in my house right now which is about 72 degrees. Last night they decided they didn’t want to sleep on top. I just found it strange that these little ducks are using the heat so little now.

I caught them this morning laying on top for the first time since yesterday morning. I have no plans to pull out my heat plate yet. Just wanted to share my thoughts on strange and see what others thought.
