Removing rooster spurs

Need to know the best way to remove the spurs from my rooster. He is just over a year old.

I had a chicken friend tell me the best way is to twist off the outer shell of the spur.She said they dont usually bleed this was.You just hold onto the spur with a pair of pliers and slowly twist until it pops off.Iv not done this or seen it but this lady has always given my sound advice. Why are you removing his spurs? Aggressive to humans or hurting the hens?

i have the same problem. My friend's hen has spurs, my neighbor's rooster has spurs and my rooster is started to get his. My neighbor wants me to come over and do her rooster's spurs and so does my friend. I heard that you heat a potato, then you stick it on the spurs and twist. My neighbor said that it works just fine.
