Repopulating after hot mareks??

Wow - I didn't realize that there were strains different enough to require a special vaccine! Thanks - DOUBLE thanks - for the education!
I believe there are different vaccines....but not positive.
There are different strains and any vaccine is not always effective.

I have dealt with a "cold Mareks" strain and chickens that were not vaccinated. Effected birds are culled with resistant birds carried forward to replace losses. Last case I had was about 5 years ago even when flock have been kept continuously. The reservoir for the disease I think is migratory birds owing to seasonality of outbreaks (early fall) and some wild birds succumbing at same time to a condition that looks very much like Mareks. Local animal health experts do not report seeing same. The experts here are very much over paid.
