Hi guys just saw this thread, wanted to say hi! I have a crested gecko from a friend who was moving away (she had nine, could only take two), I’m not the main care taker but love her anyways. This is Juni!

I also love snakes, mostly the wild ones we see around here, milkshakes, garters, ribbon snakes etc.

Well. Since my last post here, Ziggy the greenish rat snake got herself stuck on a piece of duct tape while I was out of town in September. Thankfully my petsitter/coworker was able to free her without too much trouble. Had the vet check her over when I got back and she seemed okay.

Unfortunately through October and into November she went on a hunger strike. Whether or not it was related to her tape drama, I don't know. The vet said her stomach and liver seemed large but sometimes they feel larger on thin snakes like rat snakes; also it was possible, but less likely given her age and the location of the large organs/masses, that she was starting to develop eggs and had gotten eggbound. She did not appear to be trying to brumate as she was losing weight. She would check over the mice I offered her but would never go the next step of actually biting. The week before Thanksgiving, the vet gave her some fluids and vitamins and I was going to bring her back after the holiday for a recheck, unfortunately she passed away the day after Thanksgiving. I elected not to have her necropsied so I won't know the reason why. Just upset about it all.

However, I had just bought Ziggy a brand new 4x2x2 Dubia cage, so Gintaras the corn snake got moved into that instead. He loves it. He's growing very well and would probably eat a rock if I painted it to look like a mouse. I just measured him last week and he's a whopping 102g and 32.6" long! Already almost as big as Noodle was at his max size! I've got my fingers crossed that he'll be a solid good-sized snake. Noodle was the best boy but he was always so noodly.

He needs a bigger feeding box lol.

Still keeping my eye out for my dream snake, a bubblegum/pink-and-green corn. Nobody seems to breed that color any more.

Like this? https://www.morphmarket.com/us/c/reptiles/colubrids/corn-snakes/721912
Bubblegum is pretty much just red factor and not an actual gene just a name.
