Yes I have!! She’s so cute, and really sweet. I wish people didn’t think of gators as bad animals.

See, I waited until I was out at college to get my cornsnake. My mom wouldn't let me get one while I was still at home, but I knew if I came home with one she wouldn't force me to get rid of it (because you take care of your animals and don't dump them when they're inconvenient and all that) . And I was right, as long as I kept him in his tank in my room she was okay with sharing a house with a scaly critter. (And she was actually the one who took me to the pet store to get him a bigger tank soon after!)

He's still alive and well at 16 years old!

And she is always going in everybody’s rooms lol

She also hates rats/mice/rodents.

I wanted rats for a while cause they seem amazing but that’s never gonna happen lol she did say I could get gerbils once cause they have fuzzy tails at least and are kinda cute and I almost did, bought some supplies a couple years ago, but I decided against it cause I read they’re very dusty and I think that would trigger my asthma/allergies haha maybe some day.

My brother had rats and they were where not fun ! We had two , rosy and ranger , rosy escaped and ran around the house for three weeks !
It was a nightmare watching movies because whenever you get comfortable a rat runs across your feet and everyone goes crazy trying to catch it while mom's screaming !

We finally caught her and put her in a cage with smaller wires so she couldn't squeeze out ! Had to move them outside for some reason and she was well.......eaten by a ratsnake!
(We just let the ratsnake go , it was just helping itself to a free meal and it was just it's instinct )
Ranger died of old age Thankfully, no horrific death ! So ...yeah I don't want rats but there was some perks, like going outside and watching them and giving them treats , and ranger loved hay ! He would bundle it up and sleep in the middle !

Get them if you want them, you'll probably have a better experience

oh wow you for sure had a horrible experience! from what I’ve read they’re like little dogs and bond a lot with the owner and can be taught tricks and stuff so I’m hoping that’s the case but maybe not always hahah I think if I got them I would find a breeder or someone with well socialized ones and get them as babies rather than pet store ones. A lot of our stores don’t even carry rats anymore.
