I held Reese's today! I let him chill in his new home for a couple days before getting him out, he seemed pretty agitated for those first few days.

He just sat there like a little potato while I scooped him up, then he wound himself around my arm, ponytail, and neck. He is friggin LONG! He must be longer than I am tall. His previous owner said he'll molt soon, he's really dull right now.

Any recommendations for a heating source? Reese's is right by a very cold window, while holding him today I noticed he felt very chilly (the snakes I have held in the past were wild though and Texas is very hot).
I'd like to go with a mat, but I'm a Google person and I found pics of snakes that were burned. Brand recommendations?

I really like Zoomed under tank heaters. The important thing with any heat mat though is to buy a thermostat for it. Heat mats have no built in temp regulation. Get an external thermostat for it though and you can set it to an ideal temp for your critter. And then there should be zero burn risk.

What are you currently using for a heat source?

You can use one of them temp gun things to see exactly what temperature your snake will be at on the substrate.

I just have two lamps, an infrared lamp and a basking lamp. He likes the basking one, he moves more and sits beneath it. I have an infrared thermometer, and he also has a thermometer attached to the sidewall of his tank.
