3 weeks old - all 8 and Momma are doing great! They are starting to feather. Very interesting colors so far, and 2 of them have no tail feathers... yet
Congrats on your little family. My broody has 6 chicks. (3.5 weeks old) It's such a pleasure to see them interacting. If you didn't know she had that many eggs, she was covering them well. I think the size of brood a hen can successfully set is related to her size and her skill. If the eggs all stay out of sight, there aren't too many. Many folks tell of hens who disappear for a while and return with 10-14 or more chicks 3 weeks later.
