I have never given myself the luxury of a rant before so please excuse me if I have not quite got into the swing of it yet
I would like to smack upside the head the guy who owned the chickens we rescued at the weekend.
The poor little Maran is so sore she can hardly walk. I have never seen scaly legs so bad, I hate to imagine how long she has been left untreated for them to get this bad. I know they are only egg machines to some people but I just do not understand how you can look out each day and see this poor girl trying to walk and just not give a darn.
The little ROR is pooping blood and the Sussex is very lethargic, I am sure this must have affected the number of eggs they were laying, you would think if only for that reason alone their crappy owner would have given them basic health care.
this is her legs after a bath and some mite and louse treatment
This is after a bath and introduction to the hairdryer, which they loved! I was really shocked, thought they might be frightened but they stood and turned around and preened whilst I dried them. Then they sat on the couch and watched tv for a bit. I am going to worm them tomorrow or the next day as I am a bit nervous of overloading them and stressing them out by doing everything in one day.
