Anyways Lisa I think that what you are doing right now is fine make sure that you restrict her feed but dont restrict her water. Make sure she has enough time to run around outside to get her exercise and to loose some weight. Also I would recommend that you at least contact your neighbor and say that you found one of their birds and was wondering if you could keep it and offer compensation. I do hear that meat birds lay HUGE eggs.
Forgot to add that you should wait til she is fully feathered until you put her outside at night and check her to make sure she isnt too cold at that point
