I'm interested in anyone who has rescued sick chicks or ducklings from retail outlets like Tractor Supply, Rural King, etc. who sell them each spring. No doubt they frequently have sick or injured ones from time to time that no doubt disappear into the backroom for hidden neck wringing or slow death. Anyone have experience rescuing these unfortunate babies and restoring them back to health?

The manager at our TSC keeps them back for a day or two to make sure all are healthy enough to sell. He's a great guy has his own flock of 40 or so. But I'd be leary of the sickly looking ones. !

A few years ago I heard people rescuing chicks from the back by the dumpster.... no idea if it was true
There was a lady on here that we greeted as a new member. She said her son found chickens in a dumpster behind a tractor supply. She adopted them.
