Hello group,
I'm so happy to have found this website. I know I will gain a lot of information from others who have chicken hobbies. I currently am raising three breeds, and have incubators going for a couple more to add to my "collection."
I've raised chickens since I was a kid and feeding, watering and cleaning nesting boxes was my chore as an 8 year old. I think that's when I first grew an affection for chickens. I had a brown hen with one eye that I simply adored, and she spent a lot of time in my arms.
I currently am raising four grandkids along with my broods, and teach school by profession. Our small hobby farm is full of dogs, dairy goats, and of course chickens...oh, and don't let me forget Popcorn the pony!
I look forward to reading about others with chickens and various articles on this site to gain more information.

Greetings and welcome to BYC! So glad you joined us. My grand kids LOVE visiting... not so much for me, but to be with all the animals. ;) Even though you're obviously experienced, there's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old will never remember from this thread. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
