Respiratory Illness in broody’s and babies

Perhaps you should consider adding Denagard (Tiamulin Hydrogen Fumarate) to your treatment.

Denard is has proven to be highly effective at resolving respiratory illness (MG), and others illnesses as well. You put it in the water, make a fresh batch daily, add some apple juice concentrate to encourage consumption, there's no egg withdrawal, and no prescription needed. Treatment is 3-5 days. You can order it online, shop around for the best price.

Here's the link to the brochure.

I have had good results with Denagard, and keep it in my Chicken Medical Bag.

I hope I have been helpful.

God Bless :)

Here is the dosage I use:

1 1/8 teaspoon per one gallon of water.
Add 1/2 can apple juice concentrate.

There should be no other water source, until the course is finished.

Do not use other medications while using Denagard. The brochure lists the medications of concern.

I hope your chickens respond favorably, as mine did. Even if the chickens have Coryza, the Denagard may still help, as indicated in the brochure. :fl

God Bless and good health to your flock. :)

Almost sounds like ILT ( Infectious Laryngottracheitis) does spread quickly. Respiratory diseases can't be cured. Only secondary infection can be cured with antibiotics. I used Oxy Tetra A a water soluble antibiotic for the entire flock till all symptoms disappeared and had to run heat. Carriers for life.

I noticed today that 2 hens have bubbles in eyes. I googled the symptoms and it comes up with MG.

FFFFFFF!!!!!! I’m terrified this is happening.

Is there anything else it could be besides MG? I’m thinking of sending out a swab to be tested to confirm.

Any advice or direction would be greatly helpful.

Update: I sent off the sample to check on MG. Most of the flock has recovered with the Denegard in water (4th day). I have 3 that are still showing symptoms.

I also figured out they’ve been drinking out of the pond in our backyard instead of their waterers. . I locked them in their run to for them to drink the medicated water with added molasses.

Also, I may have over reacted jumping to MG. I thought that was the only disease that caused bubbles in the eyes.

At least you'll have an answer. One way or the other.

You can continue the Denagard for up to 10 days.

So glad your chickens are on the mend! :D

God Bless :)
